Mud Tug Competition
As always here at the Foundry we are ready to take on something new, so with that in mind we entered a team into the annual Mud Tug competition, which is part of the Whitstable Rocks Oyster festival , an event held at the Kent coastal fishing town of Whitstable.
The mud Tug goes back to times when the fisherman’s rivalry would see them pulling their boats through the mud to launch , these days its a friendlier event with teams in fancy dress going out into the mud once the tide goes out to compete for the bragging rights .
As a bunch of dare I say Gents of a certain age I think we acquitted our selves pretty well against teams of much younger and fitter fellas,
covered in mud by the end and absolutely exhausted we had an absolute blast and once recovered I think we will be back next year better prepared (maybe with less beer drunk before the start ) for revenge
